Judul:*School Uniform Policy*

By:*Riswan Firmansyah*

Children are the future of human society, and this is why we have to develop effective solutions to problems that they face. When it comes to school, there is a variety of problems concerning the social status of the students, crime, and a lack of willingness to study. There is an urgent need to estrange these problems or at least make them occur less often, and many researchers consider school uniform implementation to be an effective tool for that.

First, there are many researchers who believe that uniform policy implementation can have a positive influence on students of different ages. A necessity to wear a school uniform is definitely a restriction, and it helps students to realize that their school is not a place where everything is allowed. In such a case, it is easier to make students respect their teacher. According to Agarwal (2015), the uniform is able to increase students’ attendance and academic performance. The author is not the only one who considers it to be helpful for students’ development; Sanchez and Hill (2012) claim that a school uniform is an essential tool helping to reduce students’ inclination to commit offenses.

*Should performance enhancing drugs be accepted in sports?*

The issue of using drugs to enhance athlete’s performance is controversial. Those who agree to the use of drugs in enhancing performance say that most top players in all sports take drugs to train harder and feel no pain during play. The trainers, sports doctors, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and managers of the big names make sure banned substances are taken at the safest and most efficient levels. The main effect of banning such substances has turned performers and their coaches into liars and cheaters.

On the other hand, some still believe that performance enhancing drugs in sport should be banned. Performance enhancing drugs are not only prohibited because they violate the spirit of sport but because they can damage the health of athletes.

I think the idea of allowing them in sports could lead to a situation whereby sportsmen and women are used as human guinea pigs for a constant fl ow of new, unregulated substances.

*Will solar energy ever be a main source of energy for industrial societies?*

The solar energy is cheaper than any fossil fuell because we can get the abundant source of energy from the sun.

In sunny deserts, the sun’s radiation that reaches the ground can be used to produce electricity for industries and homes. In one of experiment, solar ponds can produce hot water to drive generators.

Unfortunately, we can’t power our homes entirely on sunlight. Solar energy can only be exploited in bright light. Its great potential, therefore, is in countries that have clear skies for most of the year. Most houses, however, are not in the sunniest part of the world. In addition to convert sunlight directly into electricity, solar cells are needed. Although they are very cheap to turn, relatively they are expensive to buy and many people can’t afford them.

_There are a lot of discussions as to whether students should be given homework or not._

Some people claim that children do enough work in school already. They also argue that children have hobbies that they want to do after school, such, as sports or music. A further point they make is that a lot of homework is pointless and doesn’t help the child learn at all.

However, there are also strong arguments against this point of view. Parents and teachers argue that it is important to find out whether children can work on their own

without the support from the teacher. They say that the evening is a good time for children to sit down and think about what they have learned in school. Furthermore they claim that the school day is too short to get anything done that needs doing and it makes sense to send home tasks like independent reading or further writing tasks that don’t need teacher’s support.

On balance, I think that some homework is a good idea but that it should only given at the weekend when children have more time.

A. Both paragraphs argue that homework is necessary for students.

B. Unlike the fourth paragraph, the second paragraph argues that homework is unnecessary.

D. The second paragraph and the fourth paragraph argue that students do not need homework.

E. The second and the fourth paragraphs do not say anything about the benefit of homework.

*Jawaban: B. Unlike the fourth paragraph, the second paragraph argues that homework is unnecessary.*

Birth Control

Most people agree that some form of family limitation or spacing is desirable for the good of the family and society. But individuals and groups– especially religious groups–differ sharply on the methods of birth control that they consider moral and acceptable.

Couples that practise birth control do so for various reasons. They may want to limit or space their children or to have no children at all. Young couples often postpone having children so that both partners can work full-time. Other couples space their children so they can give each child as much attention as possible. Some women are advised by their doctors to avoid pregnancy for health reasons. In many countries with rapidly growing populations, the government encourages couples to limit the size of their families.

Even though birth control has gained in acceptance, opposition to the practice is continuous. Some people fear that birth control encourages sexual relations outside marriage or that the government might impose birth control. Some religious groups oppose birth control on moral grounds.

Some religious groups teach that artificial methods of birth control are immoral because they separate the two purposes of intercourse in marriage–conjugal love and the procreation of children. Although they oppose all artificial birth control, they consider natural family planning acceptable.

Stating an issue

Everybody like home sweet home however

making office at home is possible and recommend. Of course home office will have both advantage and disadvantage. Therefore it is wise to consider the strengths and weaknesses to have a home office.

Arguments for Some people will agree that having office

at home will make benefit. It saves time. We need no commuting which occasionally takes a long time. Besides we are free to set the work schedule. Having home office will save money as we need not to purchase or lease of office space from rent companies. What make it more flexible is that we can set part or all parts of our home just as a real office. What we need is only a wireless router to cover all parts of our house with. Internet. We can run our business wherever part of house we want, from living room. bed room, veranda, etc even we can make sell or purchase by online shopping for things we need. Furthermore Working at home might reduce stress, effort and time and divert it to other more productive things because while working, we are close to our families.

Arguments against

some disadvantages. For some people. keeping the schedule is hard in flexible.

However making home as office also has time. Such people types will harder if they are working just from home. There will no border between working and clear border breaking. Working just from home also. reduces the possibility to meet new people. It is true that computer and Internet connection possibly relate people every time and everywhere but we will interact with them in a dimension which is not real face.

Recommendation

So considering carefully what we actually need in running our business is much recommended before choosing to have office at home or not.
